This pilot project saw a collaboration between Springwell School, SoCo Music Project and Southampton-based percussion duo Dock Season. During the Summer Term 2020, Dock Season created a series of music videos for EY and Reception learners at Springwell School titled “Music and Household Objects”. These videos have been used as part of children’s school or home-based learning experiences, and have been used in different ways by parents/carers and teachers, who exchanged notes, next steps, photos and reflections through the children’s online learning journals. Springwell’s Learning Hub through Tapestry, enabled the videos to be posted weekly as part of Freestyle Friday. This project has been made possible with support from Springwell School, Southampton City Council and Youth Music. The videos have been posted by the school on the Springwell Facebook page and shared more widely. You can see the videos here:
