We are expanding our pool of Music Leaders and are on the lookout for talent and passion and Music Leaders who can deliver in the SoCo Music Project style. We’re trusted – and we’re only as good as our Music Leaders, so we really value the people we work with. So what’s this ‘style’ we care about so much? Please see our Charter here.

SoCo Music Project is about quality and innovation as well as fun and inspiration.

At SoCo Music Project we believe that music is a powerful connector that we use to inspire our participants, young and old, and those that face challenges in their lives. SoCo Music Project is currently transitioning to become a charity; developing skills, health and wellbeing of our participants and improving lives is our main focus. We use music to help support, develop and empower people to enrich their lives and enhance a sense of self and community – especially those people who may be vulnerable in some way. We help build confidence, hope and resilience. Music is just the starting point…

At the heart of everything we do are our Music Leaders, who believe in the power of what they do. With a community music approach, we employ people who are passionate about helping people use music in their lives to progress, develop and make a positive difference.

SoCo Music Project Music Leaders come from all kinds of backgrounds – some are academic with degrees or doctorates in music. Others have followed less conventional paths, may be self-taught and some may have successfully used music to overcome problems in their own lives. Others are professional musicians in their own right.

So does that sound like you? Would you like to apply to join the SoCo Music Project Music Leader Pool and be considered for work?

If you’re interested in joining us as a Music Leader, please be aware that project music leaders join SoCo’s ‘Music Leader Pool’ and are considered for selection only when our funding provides opportunities to deliver new music making sessions.  This means that even after a successful application, you may not get work straightaway.

If you feel you’re just right for our team, complete a Music Leader Registration Form and return with a covering letter to SoCo Music Project by email to mark@socomusicproject.org.uk.

As well as your musical abilities, it’s essential you include your experience and skills in engaging and working creatively with children and young people or vulnerable adults.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
