Throughout the summer of 2020 we worked closely with SO Movement to curate an album showcasing the best in Rap, Hip-Hop and R&B in Southampton. The Sounds of Southampton Vol. 1 project was funded by Arts Council and PRS Foundation, providing the resources to mentor 24 emerging artists, commission local videographers to produce music videos, and work with producers and studios in the city to create a rich collection of vibrant tracks. You can stream and purchase the album here. Check out the album on Spotify and the music videos below. Please note, some tracks contain explicit language and adult themes, listener discretion is advised.

This project has helped me focus on one of my biggest goals and has really pushed me to be the best version of myself. This project has also made me realise and experience the real life behind being a true artist, how to be creative, how to be confident, how to make music, and the skills to making my song sound great and look great.

Amy da Silva

As an independent artist, exposure is very hard. This project has showcased my music to a broader audience.

Edward McMann

This project has opened doors and bridged connections with people, as well offering amazing promotion and publicity

I am forever thankful to the people who saw my potential and made me part of this project because if this project wasn’t here, I wouldn’t have had a clue if I would have and how I would have taken the next step in my career.
