NOTE: COVID-19 has dramatically changed the way we work, but we are still keen to hear from prospective Music Leaders. Now more than ever we need talented and passionate people to be part of the SoCo family, helping us reach people to support their wellbeing and their musical journeys.

SoCo is a trusted community music organisation – and we’re only as good as our Music Leaders, so we really value the people we work with. We care about how people experience music and how it can benefit their lives. If you’d like to join us then read on, and please take a look at our Charter here.

SoCo Music Project is about quality and innovation as well as fun and inspiration.

At SoCo Music Project we believe that music is a powerful connector that we use to inspire our participants, young and old, and those that face challenges in their lives. SoCo Music Project is currently transitioning to become a charity; developing skills, health and wellbeing of our participants and improving lives is our main focus. We use music to help support, develop and empower people to enrich their lives and enhance a sense of self and community – especially those people who may be vulnerable in some way. We help build confidence, hope and resilience. Music is just the starting point…

At the heart of everything we do are our Music Leaders, who believe in the power of what they do. With a community music approach, we employ people who are passionate about helping people use music in their lives to progress, develop and make a positive difference.

SoCo Music Project Music Leaders come from all kinds of backgrounds – some are academic with degrees or doctorates in music. Others have followed less conventional paths, may be self-taught and some may have successfully used music to overcome problems in their own lives. Others are professional musicians in their own right.
